]]>In their first contribution to the initiative, PDF team visited Aswan governorate during the holy month of Ramadan and delivered happiness to families there. The team was able to pack and distribute more than 600 Ramadan food boxes with the aim of providing iftar to poor families living in Al-Karama, Al-Hekma, and Al-Manar villages.
PDF contribution will not stop there, the team will work on the implementation of several projects in each of the three villages in the coming period.
Hayat Karima is designed to support the neediest through rehabilitation and raising the efficiency of houses, medical operations, provision of medicines, food baskets, environmental interventions, establishment of schools, as well as training and employment opportunities through micro enterprises.

The conference sheds light on the importance of partnerships, highlighting that a single organization, on its own, cannot cope with the different challenges facing Egypt today. Hence, the public and the private sectors as well as NGOs need to work together to become successful drivers of change.
The conference discussed several current issues holding back the progress of education, poverty, gender equality, training for employment, entrepreneurship, innovation, and empowering youth and women, through different panels.
It is worth mentioning that the Minister of Social Solidarity, Ghada Wali, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Amr Nassar, and the Minister of Planning, Hala Al-Saeed attended the conference. ]]>PDF announced the launch of the fourth edition of the “NGOs Award of Excellence for The Civil Society Organizations 2019” last April under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, which aims to support the innovative and serious development projects of NGOs in Egypt.
The award committee focuses on the efforts of NGOs in Egypt to create development in society and solve its problems, as well as contribute to support the efforts of the state to meet the humanitarian, social and economic needs of society.
PDF has set the criteria for choosing the winning NGO, these include: innovation, the impact on the community, the planning and the implementation phase, the documentation of projects or programs, as well as sustainability and continuity.
The award consists of certificates of excellence and a financial grant; 150,000 EGP to first place winner, 100,000 EGP to second place winner, 75,000 EGP to third place winner, and 50,000 EGP to fourth place winner.

The initiative will then be targeted at other villages in the second phase according to indicators and levels of poverty.

The signing of the protocol took place in a ceremony attended by 19 associations and NGOs such as Life Makers Association, Al Orman Association, Egyptian Food Bank, Decent Life Bank, Al Shareyah Association, Egyptian Cure Bank, The Professional Development Foundation, The Arab Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, Shepherd of Egypt Foundation, Misr Foundation, Mosque of Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud Foundation, Children of Female Prisoners Association, Misr El Kheir Foundation, Baseera Foundation for the Visually Impaired, and El Ber Wel Taqwa Charitable Association.
