This French niche luxury brand now has five gourmand-leaning scents in their lineup (with another on the way soon!) You may be familiar with their initial launch, and bestseller, Escapade Gourmande; a stunningly indulgent vanilla that took the fragrance world by storm.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe brand has now launched their fifth scent; P\u00eache Velours<\/a>. This is a luminous, fruity fragrance, based around juicy, velvety peach, with a bouquet of white flowers in the heart, and sweet vanilla blended with warm woods in the base. Honestly, it sounds right up my street!\r\n\r\n \r\n

The Scent:<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n \r\n\r\nI’m a big fan of peach fragrances, and fruity scents in general, so I couldn\u2019t wait to get my nose on the latest launch from Maison Mataha. P\u00eache Velours promises to enamour its wearer with juicy, velvety peach, accompanied by a delicate floral bouquet – let\u2019s see if it\u2019s worth trying.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nP\u00eache Velours opens with the sweetest, juiciest, ripe peach – it\u2019s so good! Imagine the most beautiful peach, freshly ripened by the sun to perfection, you bite into it and its juicy, sweet nectar fills your mouth… I’m drooling just thinking about it! The opening also has the most wonderful, soft fluffiness to it too, though the peach is juicy, there\u2019s also a really lovely, velvety, cosy element to the opening of the scent which I can’t get enough of.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe heart features a floral bouquet of violet, tuberose and jasmine. It doesn\u2019t take long for these floral notes to make an appearance, they balance the sweet peach really well, without taking over the scent. I would say I pick up on the violet the most though.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAs time goes on, the base notes become more prominent – vanilla, musk and sandalwood support the scent in the dry down, and they really are the perfect combination to finish the fragrance off nicely. The scent still feels fluffy and creamy, though the intensity of the peach has dulled somewhat. I feel like I pick up the vanilla, musk and sandalwood in equal parts in the dry down, they combine so well, leaving you with a gorgeously warm and sweet trail. Overall, this is a scent that feels like the juiciest peach has just been warmed by the sun; it’s ripe yet soft, velvety smooth, sweet, rich and comforting all at once. This is a true beauty of a scent!\r\n\r\n \r\n

The sun is high, the air is warm, and on a crumpled tablecloth, a fresh peach is waiting to be bitten. P\u00eache Velours,<\/em>\u00a0that’s the moment. Performance & Wearability<\/strong>:<\/h2>\r\n \r\n\r\nP\u00eache Velours is a really easy to wear fragrance that I think most people will enjoy who love fruity, fluffy, musky, feminine fragrances. In terms of performance, I was impressed, this projected for a good 5 hours plus on me, and lasted all day and evening on my skin and clothes.\r\n\r\n \r\n

Conclusion:<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n \r\n\r\nI had high hopes for P\u00eache Velours, and I\u2019m happy to say I wasn\u2019t disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful, cosy, comforting element the scent offers, it really is so enticing and moreish. The peach is juicy and bright, then quickly turns into something more tender, softer and wonderfully fluffy to the nose. P\u00eache Velours ticks a lot of boxes for me, it\u2019s addictive and rich, but without feeling heavy, it’s easy to wear, and overall just a really well put together scent.
