Benefits of UAE Residency

Residency is a visa status which allows the holder to live in the country without being a citizen. Visa holders are also entitled to live, work, go to school and access health care in the country of residence.

Residency issued for 2 years or 10 years if you apply for the UAE Golden Visa..

Favourable tax regime for investors - with no personal income, capital, net worth or withholding tax.

Applican’ts spouse and unmarried children (of any age) may be added without additional investment.

The UAE Residency Program requires applicants to complete one the investment options as outlined below:
Option 1

Public Investment

The investor is required to make a public investment of at least 2,000,000.  This could be either a deposit into an investment fund or establishing a  company in the UAE with a capital of at least AED 2 million. This investment  allows you to apply for a 10-year Golden Visa.

Real Estate Investment

The investor is required to purchase one or more properties that meet they  minimum investment. This property can be purchased under joint ownership  with your spouse or company/group, but the personal investment must be at  least AED 2 million. You may also choose to purchase the property with a loan,  but in this case, only specific local banks are approved. This investment allows  you to apply for a 10-year Golden Visa.

Company Investment

The investor is required to establish a new company in the UAE. There are three  types of companies that you can set up:

  • Offshore company
  • Free-zone company
  • On-shore company

TRADE LICENSES

Under the residency program, it is  required that all businesses obtain  a trade license. Trade licenses are  available in the following categories:

COMMERCIAL TRADE LICENSE

For companies engaged in buying  or selling goods. For trading within  UAE or even outside the country, a  commercial business trade license is  a must. Business activities include:  imports and exports, trading of  products, rental services, brokerage  firms, logistics firms, real estate,  and more.

INDUSTRIAL TRADE LICENSE

Issued to businesses involved  in industrial and manufacturing  activities. You need to have a  physical office inside the country for  this license.

PROFESSIONAL TRADE LICENSE

For service-oriented companies  that wish to undertake business  activities such as consulting,  law firms, marketing & design,  accounting, IT services and more.

TOURISM LICENSE

Must be obtained by business such  as travel agents, tour operators and  other hospitality related businesses.
