The D8 Residency Visa offers applicants and their families the opportunity to become residents of Portugal. Residency permits may be obtained in as little as 6 months, following which, successful applicants and their family can choose to live, work and study in Portugal. In addition, applicants are able to travel visa free to the 27 Schengen member countries including Germany, France and Switzerland.

D7 - STABLE INCOME VISA

Designed for applicants who intend to relocate to Portugal and can prove a stable income from one of the following sources: pension, income from movable, immovable or intellectual property, income from financial investments, or religious activity. Although the programme is popular amongst retirees, it is open to anyone assuming they can meet the minimum income requirements:

Please Note:

  • You must have enough money to sustain yourself and your family. The actual amount required depends on the family members included:
  • Main applicant must have a minimum income of €10,644 / year
  • For each additional adult, you must add 50% of the income requirement; minimum of €5,322 each / year
  • For each minor dependent children, you must add 30% of the income requirement; minimum of €3,193.20 each / year
  • Definition of Dependent Children and Exceptions:
  • A minor child is considered minor under 18 years of age
  • Non-biological Children of the Main Applicant or Spouse
  • Children above 18 years old who are dependent to their parents and are still not married
  • Children above 18 years old who are enrolled in an academic institution in Portugal at the time of the application
  • Children with mental disability (no age limit)
